Event organised by Avon Wildlife Trust and the Natural History Consortium
Our Year 9 students recently took part in Communicate+ at Bristol Zoo Gardens.
The event, organised by Avon Wildlife Trust and the Natural History Consortium, provides a platform for young people from across Bristol to discuss and learn about climate change and environmental issues.
The students heard from a range of speakers including a 17-year-old student working with Youth Climate Strike Bristol, an oceanographer, and a psychologist from Bath University.
The students were most impressed with ex Orchard student Joe Middleton who works for the Woodland Trust and spoke to them about how to make their local green spaces more environmentally friendly.
After the break for dinner, the students had to plan and present a
mini-campaign to tackle climate change in their local area.
