Trips & Visits
At Orchard School, we believe learning extends far beyond the classroom walls. Our diverse programme of trips and visits not only enriches the curriculum but also underpins our outstanding personal development offer, as recognised by Ofsted.
Whole Year-Group Adventures
Each year group enjoys at least one flagship outing:
- Year 7: Outdoor activity and team building day
- Year 8: Cultural excursion to a major city
- Year 9: Residential outdoor adventure on the coast
- Year 10: Campus visits to local universities and higher education institutions
- Year 11: Celebration at our much anticipated annual Prom
These large-scale events build confidence, foster friendships and create lasting memories.
Subject Specific & Enrichment Visits
Beyond whole-year trips, smaller groups participate in weekly visits tailored to their interests:
- Theatre outings to Bristol Old Vic
- Music and culture trips, including the Birmingham Orchestra
- Career insights at local employers such as PwC and GKN
- STEM challenges at the Bristol Aerospace Museum
International Experiences
As part of our languages and classics programmes, students can broaden their horizons overseas:
- France: Immersive French Language stays
- Italy: Art, History and cultural tours
- Spain: Spanish language and heritage visits
We continually explore new destinations to deepen global understanding and language skills.
Why our Trips Matter
- Enhance academic learning through real world contexts
- Develop independence, resilience and teamwork
- Foster cultural awareness and career exploration
- Strengthen the sense of community across year groups
Orchard School's trips and visits play a vital role in shaping well-rounded, curious and confident learners. We look forward to expanding our programme even further in the coming years.
