March news in brief!
Published on 27/03/15
A round-up of some of the activities Orchard pupils got stuck into during March.
Ex-pupils tell all about the "Big Wide World"
Former Orchard students James Brankin and Ellie Procter returned to talk about their experiences in the ‘big wide world’ to a group of Year 10 girls.
They helped the girls think about making the most of opportunities available now and how that will aid them in widening their choices for study and work in the future.
This project is being facilitated by Future First, who run our leavers' network.
Shield Road Primary vs Monsters!
Orchard School Bristol has worked with Year 5 children from Shield Road Primary on a term-long drama project.
They have been updating the epic poem Beowulf and learning how to defeat monsters with swords and special handshakes!
The children have worked really hard and are looking forward to showcasing their work to family and friends at Orchard in the final week of term.
Pupils learn book-making skills
Talented artists in Year 10 were given the opportunity to work with Rosie McLay, an artist and printmaker, to design and make their own books.
The students will use their newly learned book making skills to work with younger students.
