Variety of employers showcase opportunities
Orchard School students had a glimpse into their future when around 20 varied employers visited for a careers fayre.
From the Royal Navy to HMRC, students were shown some of many opportunities open to them when they leave Orchard School.
Some employers were showcasing apprenticeships while other jobs would require the students to study to degree level.
There were hands-on demonstrations in construction and students even had the chance to design a railway line!
The employers featured included: PWC, HMRC, The Navy, RAF, Army, Bristol Old Vic, Faithful and Gould, Bristol City Community Trust, Greene King, Reflections hairdressing training, Aviva, Avon and Somerset Police, Amey, Rolls-Royce, Ministry of Justice, BT, Bristol City Council On Site and Destination Bristol.
Careers and Employability Lead Rachel Thorne said: "We were absolutely thrilled by the range of employers who visited Orchard School.
"It is vital for students that they understand all the opportunities open to them and in some cases they may have discovered a possible career path which they had not previously considered.
"It was brilliant to see how engaged the students were in speaking with the employers and it was clear that many went away with a better idea of what their future has in store."
