Standing together against bullying
Published on 24/11/17
Students pledged to take a firm stance against bullying this term, as part of the national Anti-bullying Week campaign.
'All different, all equal' was the theme of the campaign, which encouraged students to reflect on how they view and treat others.
Ideas on how to tackle bullying were discussed in tutor times throughout the week. The anti-bullying theme was also integrated into our lessons.
The week culminated with tutor groups coming up with their own anti-bullying pledges, and a representative from each year group putting themselves forward to form an anti-bullying task force.
We will also be looking for staff, parents and governors to join the group.
For the second year in a row, we welcomed Humanutopia, which runs inspirational, life-changing courses for young people in schools. Treating everyone with respect and not judging one another were important lessons learned from the course.
If you are a parent and would like to join the anti-bullying task force group, please send an email expressing your interest to Alice Hinks at firstname.lastname@example.org.
