World Book Day

Published on 06/03/17

Lots of fun was had celebrating World Book Day on Thursday 2nd March.

We had a number of activities happening throughout the day, including quizzes and an opportunity for students to win book vouchers by creating their own library cards and bookmarks (don't forget, you've got until 16th March to submit your entries to the school library!).

At tutor time, we also explored various questions about reading, including what does reading mean to us, what books we like to read, and where we like to read. We discussed the many benefits of reading, from it improving our imaginations and memory, to it reducing stress and developing our verbal skills.

Students also received a £1 book token where they can take it to their local bookshop and swap it for one of these 10 World Book Day books (offer ends 26th March, so be quick!). Alternatively, students can use it to get £1 off a full price book.
