Students to stand for Bristol City Youth Council

Published on 11/11/16

We're proud to announce that eight of our students will be putting themselves forward as candidates in the Bristol City Youth Council elections.

They are currently in the process of submitting their videos, explaining why they should be elected.

From 16th-27th January, young people in schools, colleges and youth centres across Bristol will be casting their vote to elect in 28 young people to the Bristol City Youth Council for a two year term of office.

The election results will be announced on 10th February, 5-9pm.

If voted, their role will be to represent young people’s views to adult decision makers like the mayor, councillors, council officers, and members of parliament, and influence the decisions they make.

The opportunity to stand as a candidate is open to all young people aged 11 to 18, living in or going to school in Bristol.

We wish the following students the best of luck with their election campaigns:

Harry Jarrett
Yasmin Lasku
Mohamed Aidid
Rahma Duale
Kacey Jeffreys
Evie Lane
