PUPILS from Orchard School are working alongside educational provider and theatre group, Unique Voice, to raise awareness about 'digital footprints'.

A digital footprint is the mark left by users of the internet. Unique Voice is enforcing the idea that whatever is shared online, may not just be available to family and friends, but also a wider audience.

Once information is shared, it could be therefore forever.

Unique Voice has been working with Orchard School's E-Safety, creating tours, events and assemblies which inform their school community on important issues regarding the internet.

This term, Unique Voice has been delivering a masterclass on digital footprints, and then allowing the E-Safety students to come up with a strategy on how best to vocalise the messages.

The champions have been working in teams, creating assemblies, art displays, websites and a twitter team - the 'Hashtags'.

The Twitter team - who have been researching into the impact of digital footprints - will be utilising Orchard's social media feed to post tweets which raise awareness about using the internet in a positive way, with the hashtag #thinkbeforeyoupost.

One tweet reads: 80% of future employers google your name and explore your digital footprint. Will you get the job based on yours? #thinkbeforeyoupost

To keep up-to-date with the facts that the Hashtags have found, follow @OrchardSB on Twitter.
