Year 11 Art and Photography students have been working with visiting artists Laurie Lax and Ben from the Young Arnolfini group to create some exciting work based on their current theme of ‘Pattern and Camouflage’.

Laurie spoke about her work, which explores patterns in the natural and man-made environment and the students then got stuck in to two hours of creative workshops.

We made flags out of felt, experimented with chalk power printing techniques and created unique patterns on t-shirts using fabric pens.

Students created interesting photographic compositions by pairing the t-shirts with projected patterns using overhead projectors and experimenting with overlaying patterns and shapes.

Year 11 will be using these outcomes as a springboard to planning for their mock exams later this month. Good luck all!
