An impressive performance of Shakespeare's Macbeth was put on by a group of 17 Orchard School students to a packed audience of 350 people at the Redgrave Theatre, Clifton.

The show, on 18th November, was part of the Shakespeare Schools Festival and was the second time that OSB had entered the festival. They made their debut last year with 'A Midsummer Night's Dream.

Our students have been rehearsing since June and worked very hard on their triumphant performance!

Shakespeare Schools Festival staff commented on our students' ensemble work and use of physical theatre to create the set, as well as praised the two actresses playing Lady Macbeth (Yasmin Lasku and Ellie-May Sandall, both Year 8) for portraying the inner ambitions and outer pretence of this complex character.

All of the students who took part were a credit to OSB in both their demeanour and their supportive attitude towards the other schools performing that evening - well done!

This year's production was directed by Miss Florence Wood who was assisted by Miss Holly McEleny and Miss Jennifer Marsh.
