A group of students from Years 7, 8 and 9 completed a philosophy course during Wednesday afternoon enrichment.

Thanks to funding from the Institute of Philosophy, they were fortunate enough to be taught by Dr Chris Gifford, a teaching fellow from the institute and the University of Bristol.

On top of this, our library was given £100 by the institute to spend on philosophy books.

Even after tackling a huge range of philosophical problems during their eight-week course, some of our aspiring Aristotles wanted more: with Dr Gifford's help, Alice Burgin, Ruby Smith and Lewis Bullock (pictured left to right with Dr Gifford and the new books) have formed a committee and are already planning their own Philosophy club at Orchard School.
