Meet our new digital safety ambassadors!

We now have a group of fully-fledged digital safety ambassadors within our midst!
Nine of our students received the training as part of the ‘Be Strong Online’ digital resilience programme, set up by Vodafone and the Diana Award charity.
By being trained as a ‘Be Strong Online’ ambassador, our students are now empowered to be positive online role models to their peers and develop skills such as leadership and public speaking.
It was a full day of training at Patchway Community School and involved networking with other young ambassadors, taking part in quizzes and games, and learning fun ways to educate others about digital safety.
Our students represented OSB fantastically, contributing to discussions and sharing their ideas for a safer internet.
Some even volunteered to stand at the front of the hall and present their ideas on ‘critical thinking online’ and ‘selfies and self-esteem’.
The programme has 10 modules to choose from which cover topics such as cyber-bullying, social media, selfies, and digital detoxing.
The group will now be choosing which module they would like to focus on first, and coming up with an action plan on how they will be offering support to their peers.
