Modern Languages

What’s it all about?

Initially, you will learn either French or Spanish for 3 years (Years 7-9). All students start GCSE in Year 9 and most will continue in Years 10 and 11. In addition, Year 9 students will be invited to a residential trip to France or Spain.

Learning a language gives you the opportunity to improve your literacy through communicating with people from France or Spain and you will learn explicit skills in listening, speaking, reading and writing.

IN BRIEF: You want to learn about other people and cultures? You want a new experience of the world? Study a language!
