Year 11 rugby pay tribute to Yazan
On the calendar, it was just another rugby match.
But our Y11 boys’ fixture against Redland Green this month was a poignant afternoon for all concerned as we remembered Yazan, who passed away in October and who was such a big part of this team.
Both teams stood in silence before the game, and the large turnout of spectators joined them to pay their respects … there was not a dry eye to be seen.
Rugby coach Mr Keeling said: “What an amazing event - the way that both teams and all the spectators showed respect at the start. The game itself ended three tries each, a 15-15 draw – but it was all about the memory of a great young man, Yazan. He would have been proud.”
