Local people enjoy a chance to chat and improve their English at Orchard School Bristol.
Local people seeking to improve their spoken English have been chatting away at our fun and friendly Conversation Club.
Run in conjunction with Bristol City Council, those attending are able to practise speaking English with a series of fun activities, meet new people and improve their confidence ... And everyone gets a nice cuppa!
Topics discussed include job interviews, CVs, travel (buying train/bus/plain tickets), restaurant bookings, how to complain/ask for money back, talking to tradesmen (plumbers/builders/electricians), dealing with housing issues, and anything else that comes to mind.
We are still keen to meet new people and anyone interested can come along and give it a try.
Thuy, who attends the Conversation Club, said: "I come to the club because of two reasons: first, I want to meet foreign people and make friends. Second, I want to have an environment to practise my English skills, especially for listening and speaking.
"I really like the club, the people are very friendly, helpful and honest. I can learn more about cultures, customs from many countries and people."
Monica, another attendee, said: "I feel lucky to have the opportunity to practise my English in a so free place."
Grace added: "This club is really helpful to meet people and improve English."
Delphine commented: "Very nice, very friendly, very effective. Join us!"
The sessions are held every Tuesday, 9.30 - 10.30am and Wednesday, 4.30 - 5.30pm term time only, in the City Learning Centre building at the front of Orchard School Bristol.
