At Orchard School Bristol in partnership with Bristol City Council, we offer a weekly Conversation Club aimed at people who speak English as a second language.
Learners can practise conversation in an informal and relaxed setting, to build up their confidence and vocabulary, while meeting new friends.
The difference between this and the ESOL (English Speakers of Other Languages) course is that it is more relaxed, and each week there is no strict structure to the sessions, with the trainers offering help in the areas you choose.
Some topics we have discussed are:
- Making phone calls to the bank, doctors surgery etc...
- Food shopping
- Parents' Evening
- Jobs (interviews and going to the Job Centre)
Our Conversation Club is a drop-in session and you do not need to book - come along, and see if it's the right group for you. It is run during term time, every Tuesday 9.30 - 10.30 and Wednesday at 4.30 - 5.30pm and in the CLC (the building at the front of the school).
For more information please contact 0117 377 2000.
